Sloppy Joes:
1 lb hamburg
1 onion, chopped up fine or sliced up thin
1 tbsp vinegar
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
2/3 cup ketchup
1 tbsp yellow mustard
1/2 cup water
salt to taste
Buns to serve

Brown hamburg and onions.  Add other ingredients.  Simmer 15 minutes.  Serve.

So, technically, you could go to the supermarket and just buy the mix.  But with all the prepackaged mixes with all those ingredients you can't pronounce, coupled with the simple fact that this recipe blows the prepackaged one out of the water, why would you?  This recipe comes from my mom, and I remember having this as a kid myself.  I remember not being a huge fan of it when I was younger; hamburger meat was meant to be served as a patty, on a bun, hamburger style only.  Mixing ingredients and putting it in said bun was an adjustment to me, and one I didn't remember until I told my son what we were having for dinner.  While his expression pretty much sums up what I felt as a kid myself, my response is now typical for an adult; "It's what's for dinner, and you have to try it before having anything else."

This recipe is AWESOME.  The taste is amazing.  And it's so simple and easy to make.  :)
