Strawberry & Spinach Salad
Spinach, torn into bite size pieces
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 tsp paprika
2 tbsp sesame seeds
1 tbsp poppy seeds
Toss together the spinach & the strawberries. In a medium bowl, whisk together the oil, vinegar, sugar, paprika, sesame seeds & poppy seeds. Pour over the spinach & strawberries, toss to coat, and try not to drink the salad dressing.
I'm serious. The dressing is that good. I'm challenged when it comes to salads. I just don't think of what would go well with what, or that tomatoes can be yellow, and that fruit sometimes kicks tail when added to a salad. Then I'll read a recipe for a salad and it's like a light bulb turns on over my head.
This salad is AWESOME to have in the summer, or to bring to a BBQ. I think I've got spring (or summer) fever. :)
We've thrown chicken on this as well.
Do you have any salads that are your standby's that you love? Let me know!
